Do you remember learning italic handwriting at school? If the thought brings back memories of exercise books and careful penmanship, don’t worry—this is much more fun! Modern calligraphy takes inspiration from those familiar letterforms, but it’s all about enjoying the creative process, not having perfect handwriting. In fact, your everyday handwriting doesn’t matter at all.

In this relaxed and friendly workshop, you’ll learn the basics of modern calligraphy, from simple strokes and letterforms to joining letters into elegant words and phrases. There’ll be plenty of guided practice, and by the end of the session you’ll create a personalised greeting card, bookmark, or inspirational quote to take home.

No previous experience is needed, and all materials are provided. Come along, have a go, and discover just how enjoyable putting pen to paper can be. Maximum 12 participants.
