Racketball is similar to squash, played in a squash court but with more relaxed rules such as an under arm serve with two serve attempts. It has the same great fitness and coordination benefits, but is easier to play and more accessible - mainly because the ball is larger, slower and bouncier and doesn’t need to be warmed up. The sport is also known as Squash57 because of the size of the ball.
The group currently meets twice-weekly on Wednesday and Friday afternoons (usually 2-3pm) using the squash courts at Yate Leisure Centre.
New members are welcome, ideally with some past racket sport experience. Come along for a free taster session - we usually have spare equipment which can be used, just bring suitable (non-marking) trainers - or just to watch the game being played and have a chat.
